This trip was a gift for my 9-year-old who loves fishing, and it couldn’t have gone better. Captain Wayne was patient, engaging, and made the whole experience fun and educational. He put us on plenty of fish, including grunt, sand perch, and even a 23-inch red grouper. He also cleaned our catch so we could take it to a local restaurant and have it prepared for lunch. We’ll definitely be back.

We had a great experience from start to finish. The captain put us on fish right away and was both knowledgeable and easy to talk to. Unlike some trips where the captain can seem rushed or impatient, he was relaxed, engaging, and genuinely enjoyable to be around. He gave us the freedom to fish and bait our own hooks, which we appreciated, and never made us feel inexperienced. I’d book this trip again without hesitation.

We booked a 4-hour fishing trip, and it turned into a day we’ll never forget. The boat was clean, roomy, and comfortable, and the captain tailored the whole outing to what we wanted to catch. He knew exactly where to go, what bait to use, and how to work each species, and he explained the details behind every fish we brought up. We used squid, chopped bait, and live bait throughout the trip and hooked into two amberjack right away. From there the action kept coming with triggerfish, bonitas, vermillion snapper, and more. We even spotted a few sea turtles and dolphins along the way, which made the experience even better.

My dad was in town, so we decided to book our first fishing charter, and it turned out to be a great choice. We originally planned for a Saturday morning trip, but with weather coming in, Captain Wayne suggested moving it to Sunday afternoon. The change worked out perfectly. He guided us through everything, kept things simple, and even filleted all our catch at the end. All we had to do was relax and enjoy the fishing.

As complete beginners, we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The captain took the time to walk us through everything and made it easy to get started. We caught a great mix of fish, including snapper, Spanish mackerel, and triggerfish. He also kept the 6-hour trip flexible, moving between inshore docks, offshore reefs, and even some trolling so we could try different techniques. At the end, he filleted our catch and we brought it straight to LJ Schooners to have it cooked. We’d definitely book again.

Captain Wayne was excellent from start to finish. He went out of his way to make sure our trip still happened despite the weather, quickly rescheduling when our original outing was rained out. He’s very knowledgeable about the local wildlife and the gear needed to catch them, and he kept everything clear and easy to follow. Friendly, straightforward, and great to spend time with on the water. Highly recommend and we’re looking forward to fishing with him again.

My wife, son, friend, and I had an incredible time during our week-long vacation in Destin, FL, thanks to our first-ever deep sea fishing trip with Captain Wayne. Captain Wayne was awesome—he put us on plenty of fish! We caught a variety, including red grouper, red snapper, mahi, triggerfish, and even a huge jack crevalle.

Captain Wayne really knew the area and put us right on the fish. The gear was top-notch and worked flawlessly. He was especially helpful with the less experienced anglers in our group, making sure everyone felt comfortable and had a great time. We landed several red snapper—one of my bucket list catches! Captain Wayne did a fantastic job taking us to numerous fishing sites. We caught trigger fish, Mahi Mahi, and vermillion snapper. Very successful day. His snapper taco recipe was amazing! Highly recommend him.

Captain Wayne created an amazing experience for our family. We wanted to take our granddaughters out for their first fishing charter. He was unbelievably flexible with weather delays trying to make sure we could get out. Captain Wayne was kind, patient, and got us on the fish on a day that should have been blown out due to all the rain. Highly recommended!

The weather was perfect, setting the tone for a great trip. Captain Wayne kept communication clear, and we met at the dock around 9:00. After a quick safety check, we headed out. Our first stop was the seam at the incoming tide, where we did a few trolling passes before moving to other spots. The bite picked up near the jetty, and we found a productive area—landing five keeper flounder in no time, along with a mix of smaller ones. After a solid hour of fishing, we returned, and the captain cleaned our catch. The boat was well-equipped with electronics and fresh live bait. Everyone caught fish and had a great time!
